Do you feel your story MUST be heard? Please join us on January 20th for a very special Tongass Mist Writing Workshop.

Savory Senses: From Detail to Metaphor to Art

Aristotle writes, “Place is a vessel that holds us.” And, indeed, it is. As writers we need to draw upon our physical surroundings for sensory images and details to embody our complicated and compelling interior lives. By doing so, we also discover the metaphors of our narratives, thus turning experience into art.

Join Tongass Mist Writing and guest writer Sue William Silverman for this incredible chance to learn about use of concrete details adding meaning and universal appeal to your creative writing. Each writer who registers will receive a complimentary copy of Sue's latest book Acetylene Torch Songs: Writing True Stories to Ignite the Soul. During this workshop learn from one of poetry and creative nonfiction's finest! Sue is a beloved professor and mentor in the national creative writing community and will share her newest writing as well as her creative wisdom with us during this special workshop. Her first book was groundbreaking for memoir genre and made into a popular film. Check out her website ahead of time for a treasure trove of excellent writing resources!
