About the event
In this class you will explore emotional vulnerability on the page. Find ways to relate to your readers through honest portrays of your characters, narrators and universal truths. We all walk around with armor on to protect our soft spaces; the heart, emotions and dreams. But what happens when we give readers a glimpse of something fragile yet true, something they can recognize as similar to them, or just like someone they once knew. What happens is your writing becomes relatable and important to the reader. If we are lucky, this kind of writing affects writers, makes them feel real too and perhaps helps them to live with just a bit more bravery in this wild world.
You can expect to spend time learning from your teacher Molly Barari, discussing your own experiences with writing vulnerability on the page and also engaging in generative writing prompts together. If you feel…
