Tongass Mist Writing LLC was formed in 2019 when founder Ruth Underhill whose vision was and remains to create accessible creative writing opportunities within the Tongass National Forest and Southeast region of Alaska, or Tlingit Aáni.
We provide classes, editing, community event hosting, tutoring and retreats in the hopes that some Tongass awe and powerful storytelling impacts our world with beauty, both wild beauty and soul beauty. Thank you for visiting our corner of a much broader and richer large picture of the literary community in Alaska.
It is our hope that writers who enjoy creative spaces with Tongass Mist Writing will also be introduced to the broader inclusive Alaska literary community and invest in these important efforts through relationships with other writers, sharing of creative resources and learning new craft skills from talented authors and teachers.
