This is a creative writing and professional development workshop for those curious about teaching creative writing, working in universities and finding the skills and opportunities needed to find your perfect teaching gig or role.

Teaching is a sacred and lauded (theoretically) profession. Writers are often told to go into teaching to pay the bills. So, what does this mean for writers and teachers in 2026? What will it take to become a successful teacher/professor?

This class spans meets on the first Wednesday of the month in December, January and February.

During our final and third week, we talk about how to infuse academic teaching gigs with your creative acumen, administrative duties every teacher manages and how to create inclusive learning communities.
