About the event
Rise and Write! with poet Shauna Potocky. Spend an hour sipping warm beverages out of a paper cup or your favorite mug. You will have to bring your mug, of course! Enjoy supportive creative community, facilitated by our generous and experienced writer and teacher Shauna. Enjoy writing prompts and space to create, to write a few true things as we wait for the approach of spring, of herring and huckleberry blossom. Stay warm beside the Yaw Chapel fireplace, rain or shine.
Shauna is a familiar friend to Sitka. She has attended prior Tongass Mist Writing events in Sitka, visited Sitka as the July 2024 Sitka Conservation Society Artist in Residence on the Pony Farm where she wrote poetry inspired by Tlingit Aàni awe and created paintings likewise inspired.
