About the event

Writing the Wild: Evolution of the Nature Essay

Join Sitka, Alaska writer Brendan Jones on the Sitka Fine Arts Campus to chat about journaling and move your writing from early stages toward a well crafted piece of writing with broad appeal to readers. This course is designed for writers interested in understanding and participating in the reflective and explorative tradition of nature writing. We will consider fundamental artistic and ethical questions around this topic. This may include writing about the environment and its destruction of a higher artistic order than writing about urban life? Is nature sacred? What role does the wild play amidst so much worldly chaos?

Is this class a good fit for you? Yes! If you have a desire to write about the wild, the natural world around us and our role in it. This class welcomes writers of all identities and experience levels. We ask that…
